Welcome to Recursive Defenestration. Why that name? I have no idea. It just sprang to mind, just like Vanishing James did. VJ’s dead though. Bye Bye VJ. Ah, back to the name – I just love the words “defenestrate” and “recursive“. Throw ‘em together and there ya go. Shit flying out a window again and again. But in a ironically peaceful template. Are you even buying any of this?

One things for sure, as quickly as I came up with the name I converted my old blog just as quickly. WordPress made it a breeze to switch from blogger to this great platform. Click Click Click and voila. A piece of felt could have don it. Presto chango, same content, new blog. Not the greatest content (will be working in earnest on that), or the most timely content (will attempt), but content nonetheless that now can be categorized, have trackbacks and customized with different pages. The thanks go out to Jefferey Zeldman of Zeldman.com fame — his post about converting to WordPress sold me on it.

Like he said, wordpress is more than a blog platform — approached correctly, it’s a CMS. That might be old news to wordpress users, but a lot of people outside of the blogosphere (like they matter…) have no idea at all. Well, color me one of the converted. It’s going to be fun customizing this and learning more about the platform. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few future websites wind up powered by wordpress — probably a little business and probably some fun.
