For the past few CSCS study sessions I’ve been employing a Tabata interval. I’m not doing the 20 minutes on, 1o minutes off made popular by the CFJ article, “Tabata My Job” – but rather 37 minutes on and 18.5 minutes off. Same ratio — just a bit longer work effort. The idea here, like all interval training, is that you can get more done faster in bursts than you can with a continuous effort. And I’m looking to get more done faster because my test is on this coming Wednesday. So far so good – have passed both practice exams and am doing one more big ass review culminating with another practice test on Tuesday morning.
Anyhoo…I’m my more than halfway through my second rest period right now and am just chilling and killing time and figured “Why not blog?”. Prepare for randomness. Well, make that prepare for more randomness than usual…
Incidentally, it’s Saturday and that means it’s cheat day. Having learned from the gastro-horror that followed the first cheat day, this one has been dialed down significantly. I had two bowls of Frosted Flakes early on…some pretzels later and now I’m drinking a nicely chilled Widmer Hefeweizen while Neville Marriner: Academy of St. Martin in the Fields plays Pavane, OP. 50. I think later on I’ll barbecue some hamburger and down another beer but the whole while I’m going to be thinking about this freaking test. Yes yes, this is Fritter material…but I just don’t think I could ever commit to that level on another service.
Oh – and did you see that I revamped the Rear Naked Choke page? If you like MMA and have a blog or site – you are encouraged to get yourself some free content. Click the link and find out how.
